Just got her today. I do know how to check the levels with the 2 petcocks, but if it were to need oil where do I add it? I have a manual on order, but just in case this is something I need to know asap.
Thanks, Craig

We need more info to be able to help you on that. From what you say that tractor could be any number of differant brands and they all have differant places to add oil.

Right side of the engine up front theres a flap sort of cap with wings on it, thats where you put in engine oil. They can be hard to get to open up some times and it can take a tap or 2 to get them to open. Its just forward of the distubutor by the way

Assuming you are talking about engine oil it needs to go into the crankcase which would be located underneath the engine. Carefully [you don't want to spill any oil} remove the oil pan from the engine and put in the required amount of oil and carefull, replace the oil pan. This can be a time consuminhg process. You can also take a piece of small tubing [rubber gas line will work] and put it on the proper petcock and use a squirt can to put oil in that way. This is time consuming also but less chance of spilling oil that way. On the serious side look on top of the engine for a vented breather cap and put oil in here or look on the side of the engine where the magneto mount and a lot of tractors have a place to add oil there, usually a vented breather cap. Letting us know what make and model would go a long ways in getting information that is more helpful.

If by chance you are referring to a Farmall H or M, there is a plate with 2 ears on the right side near the front you unscrew.
