Last year at an auction I saw a hand cranked forge at an auction, it was pulled at the last minute so I didn't get to bid on it. Does anyone know if they still make 'em? I've seen plans for a small forge made of a brake drum and bits of pipe, has anyone else seen something like this? I'd like to get into working hot metal again.

My father has one for sale. The box is not in perfect shape but is usable. Needs new pipe from blower to box. Hand crank blower is in real good shape. Could be put in working order real easy. He will occasionaly find forges. He travels around mainly looking for anvils. He bought 12 anvils from one place in Georgia. He still has several left. This forge is located in Tallassee Alabama.

Now you've done it, I'm trying to think of a way to justify a 2000 mile trip to 'Bama... I ight have to take Roy's idea and run with it. I can't believe your ded was able to buy all those anvils! Out here in Utah they're scarce. How much do you want for the forge? Later, Me

We used a setup something like this before we got a torch. We took an old brake drum and set it up
on some steel legs. Ran a small steel brake line under the fire and hooked it up to an air compressor
with the regulator turned way down. Burned either coal or charcoal.
