Myself & 3 freinds re-habbed an old dairy barn this summer for storage, found out all 4 of us are scared of heights. I got a Little Giant, and we actually can get up high to do something now. The angled step ladder was _very_ useful as well.

It's a lot of money, but the thing only wiggles a tiny bit in _one_ direction when fully extended, & I can take that. Other regular ladders I've used wiggle in all directions, & that just totally freezes my fingers onto whatever rung I'm at & there I stand, unable to do anything.....

I bought the multi-ladder from Sam's Club, and it works alright. One thing I noticed AFTER I bought it is that it's only a 17 footer.

I have both a Werner 22' folding ladder and a regular 36 foot extension ladder, type 1. The thing I have noticed is that the long extension ladder shakes when I'm at the top of it when fully extended. It doesn't shake quite as much when I have a few beers first. Also, there is never a breeze blowing until you get to the top of a 36 foot ladder and then it is enough to blow the ladder over. I swear the side rails of that long extension ladder are made of some sort of elastomer.

Werner 22'. Worth the money. Stable. Don't want to run my 250 lb a$$ up anything else after using it. Like they've said, a bit heavy, but worth lugging around for the stability.

I have three of them, one being a Little Giant. They work great. I also have a 20 foot fiberglass Werner extension laddder, but with the aluminum Little Giant type ladders, it does not see much use. Buy the ladder and you will not be disapointed. From personal experience, I would suggest that you buy the next size larger than what you think you will need, as eventually you will need the extra length.

I broke down and bought a little giant. I haven't used it much yet ,but I do see it has alot more potential than a regular ladder. I too saw the ads for the china knock offs they weren't all that much cheaper for one of the same size. I figured I'd BUY one made in USA. It's about the only thing left made here. I should get an optional leg leveler as I allready needed one and had to use unsafe blocks. I think you can get the little giants in home depot now.

The gorilla ladder (at least the articulating model) is fast disappearing from the Home Despot. They lost a patent infringment lawsuit againist them that was brought by Wing/Little Giant. They had to quit making them and are simply selling off remaining stocks. They are not selling the Little Giant.

You will not regret the Little Giant. It is pricey, but well worth it, NOTHING compares with it, smooth and easy to operate, and strong and stable. I have a 22 ft one and really gritted my teeth at the price but am quite happy with it. I have used others and they scared me. I also have several stepladders and take care of them and use them properly and have never had a problem.

After falling 6 feet to a concrete sidewalk when my crappy 8 foot stepladder collapsed, I decided it made no sense to spend time and money at the gym trying to stay in shape, only to injure myself by being too cheap with ladders.

I bought Werner's 22 foot telescoping aluminum multi-ladder product at Lowes for about $210. The ladder is plenty sturdy enough for my tastes, and the symettrical front-and-back triangular shape (you'll use the most) sits better on rough ground than an ordinary step ladder. The telescoping feature is quite handy if you need to use a ladder on stairs. The feature also reduces the total size of the ladder for moving it around. The locking knobs are solid and easy to work. The biggest downside of this ladder is that it is heavy and slinging it up onto a van-mounted ladder rack is no mean feat. Forget about the removable hinge scaffold feature. It is easier to use a second ladder for the other end of the scaffold than to take the multi-ladder apart into two ladders. (I have one of those folding mult-ladders that I use for the other end of the scaffold.) A system with two triangular ladders and a 10 foot scaffold plank is a huge time saver for working on gutters and soffits, or hanging lights on moderately high ceilings -- because you can move just one ladder and switch sides with the scaffold plank due to the front-to-back symettry of the ladder.

In short, I like this ladder (except for the weight), and may well buy a second one for scaffold work.

I also have one of the Werner 22 foot combination ladders, and really like it, especially since I am not real stable on my feet due to a hip replacement. Better quality for a lower price than the Little Giant.
