Hello All. I'm a young lad searching for old answers.
We're workin on a Massey 50 Gas 12 V system. We have noticed a "short" in the wiring. The battery drains down to dead overnight. I have traced all the wiring to spec and seems ok. Tractor runs good. Although if I take the wire off the F terminal on the generator the short is gone. I know this may sound silly, but is it more than likey the generator or should i also investigate elsewhere?

check regulator for points staying closed when engine is stopped.Erodded points or low spring tension will stick points.Note that coil or flat springs pull points open when engine stops.

Thank you. The regulator is serviceable correct. Simply take apart and check the point inside. Should any lubricant be used inside the regulator? Thank you for the response.
