How long do you nuke a really cold apple so it doesn't hurt your teeth? After 45 seconds on a Golden Delicious, it goes PFFFTTT, rolls over and squirts out some juice.LoL. Cooked that sucker good! Just like a baked apple!

We had a foreign exchange student living with us that tried to cook an egg in the shell via microwave. Try it once, just to see what'll happen. I promise, it won't damage the innards of your microwave.

Hi msb,

There's more than one online site devoted to interesting and bizarre things you can do with a microwave oven if you're not particularly safety conscious or environmentally aware. You can get some truly spectaculor effects by nuking certain items which were never intended to be nuked. The results generally seem to involve amazing visuals, emissions of toxic gases, dangerous electrical conditions, and damage to the equipment. I think this type of activity is usually discovered and performed in college dorm rooms, using equipment (including lungs) that mom and dad provided. Ah education.

I agree. Sounds like gum recession caused by not brushing,professional cleaning and flossing regularly. Think those teeth hurt now. In the future the pain and price for repairs will cost more than going to the dentist this week. Start by getting the plaque and tarter scraped off the teeth and from the pockets that have likely formed between the tooth roots and gums. Your own teeth will work better than any dentures. We dodn't want to give credit to the steriotypical image of rural folks with bad teeth either.

Hey bro, don't be knockin' my Nutty Bars. Moon pies are a wonderful thing, 'specially when accompanied by the requisite R.C. Cola.

As for time in the waver, 10-15 seconds would be plenty, lol.

I just had to perform surgery on my waver. The magnetron would come on as soon as you closed the door. A bit of net research led me to the Triac and even gave instructions for testing. Quick trip to one of the last remaining true electronics supply stores netted a new Triac for $20. Fixed her right up. Much better than $100 for a new one.

This was an important waver to save. It was the FIRST microwave my family ever owned. It's a big touchpad Litton and inside the cover it is dated Dec 14, 1977. The cooking cavity is big enough to put one of those new $100 wavers inside this thing (16x16x10).
