I purchased a Sears Model 103.24280 band saw at a flea market, it is in great shape but has no rubber covering over the wheels. The wheels have grooves that are crowned. I would think it is supposed to have rubber coverings, but maybe not. Does anyone know if it should? Sears no longer offers parts for this machine.

I do not know the diameter of the wheels as I left the saw at my other place, but I did measure the band at 80".

What size are the wheels.
You can generally get any of the standard
sizes of bandsaw tires from WoodWorkers Supply.

I need to get one for my bandsaw.

All the ones I have ever saw/worked on had tires/rubber bands on them. With out the bands its very hard on the blades and also can cause the set in the teeth on the blades to go off what they should be. Thats why the rubber bands are on them to help keep the correct set in the teeth

What size is the bandsaw? My father has and old sears which is a 12 inch which does not have tires on it. If you do decide you want to put tires on it they are widely available aftermarket.
