Well it's been about 2wks since installed the electronic mouse repellers. PetChaser #PC3000, about 3/$32 at Gemplers.com Do they work? Ya, BUT!

I think they invited there buddies to come over for a visit. LOL Our snake and coyote population is down this year so our rodent problem is huge. I've never seen it this bad in 25yrs.

How they work from what I've seen is they agitate the mouse. After about 7days I noticed a large increase in droppings plus we had more of a visual sighting at all hours of the day/night where as before we rarely seen them. It also takes two for a room with each being radiated at 90� apart. This alone increased the traffic immediatly. The more movement the more chance that a trap will catch them.

From what I've seen they will not repelle the mice, so in that since, there NOT a mouse repeller. They are worth the cost to get the mice moving so the traps will work.

The second thing I did was buy different mouse bait traps, www.BlackCatbrand.com. Black Cat have a large yellow trip pad VS the Victor narrow tang. The Black Cat works 10 times better as they take less pressure to trip thus catch smaller mice. I'm using peanut butter (small amount) on the tri-angle on the trip pad for bait. They love that peanut butter.

I saw 1 mouse in my pole barn..Set traps..To date I got 9 Mices , meeses , Whatever... Peanut butter with a sunflower seed is my recipe.

Sorry I missed your earlier post.

The best deterrent I have learned of and tried is peppermint oil or extract. Some say the extracts don't work as well and you need the peppermint oil instead. I personally use the extracts from the bakng aisle in the grocery store and they work fine. Thank you McCormicks!

Scatter droplets throughout the area where you want no mice, be it auto, truck, combine, house, shed, etc. Renew every so often.

our brand is called otee, tc , blue , pt ,and bitsy they raise h with mice and gophers . in summer you see a cat laying by gopher hole waiting for them to make last trip above ground .

Just a little off the subject. If you have cable tv and watch the cartoon network. Watch for the cartoon short about the mouse and the cheeze. It is a SCREEEEEM. I love it when he is licking the big piece of cheeze. Watch for the trap! Jeffcat

Hmmm, I use the same brand. My black cat weighs about 10lbs and has claws instead of a yellow trigger, though. I also have a Russian blue and yellow calico brand. No mice in my house... PERIOD. lol.

Try a tiny bit of uncooked bacon. You can anchor it down better on the trap. The mice can't get it off as easy as P-nut butter. Works real well and you don't have to rebait the traps everyday.

Did you install the repellers where they have a clear field of fire ? they don't work very well if they are behind someting. You need overlapping fields of fire and at least one in each room if they are bad.
I started using the cheapest ones I could find ($30 for 6 at sams) about 5 years ago when I bought this place and have had Zero mouse problems since then.
3 won't cover a whole house.

Hi IH2444,

Did you also use traps when you first installed the repellers?

I'm also using 6 for 1200sqft but I think where my problem is they got a jump move-in on me 2wks before I got the repellers. I was doing some repair and left off a outside access door..lol

btw, I also have Zero roaches in the areas where I have the rodent repellers. still have spiders and crickets though ....
I do have roaches in sheds where I do not have the repellers.

Nope I used no traps. the suckers just left when I outfitted the whole house basement and all with the repellers. If you have a crawl space you migfht want to put a couple under there. I had given up on traps before going to the repellers.
The main thing with the repellers is to imagine they a projecting an invisable field out the front, which they actually are, an ultrasonic one. Objects or walls kill this field and make areas that are not covered.
I have used nothing but the repellers for 4-5 years now and no signs of mice whatsoever. I can even leave packs of nabs and such on my desk in my workshop and mice don't touch it. and it has plenty of access points for mice :)
Perhaps the brand you got is garbage, I don't know. I have bought 2 el cheapo brands that work fine. But I did buy a 2 pack of first alert ones that claimed to also repel mosquitoes, that was garbage, I could sit in front of one and get bitten .

try a little piece of tootsie roll on the trap before you put the peanut butter on. smoosh it a little to get it soft and then press it on the bait holder. then put the peanut butter over it. the mouse will lick the peanut butter off but then try to tug the tootsie roll off and that triggers the trap more often.

Their favorite, peanut butter surprise! The traps sold as "Better Mouse Trap" work very well also. Again peanut butter to die for as bait.
