Little Giant Ladder knock-off

Don"t tell anyone but Keller is selling a multi-position ladder just like the little Giant for about 1/2 the price. I bought a 22 footer at the local Menard"s for $169.00 and it"s just great. The little giant is $399.00.

I have been staining the cedar siding on my 2-story house this summer and I couldn"t have done it without this ladder. Heavy enough to be sturdy and way more stable than any other ladder that I have owned. One section of the house requires getting on a ladder on the roof of the garage and painting the siding on the house above it. The ability to offset the leg length makes the roof pitch no concern at all.

Well worth the money.

Bought the larger-sized (13' 8" reach when in step ladder mode) Werner from Lowes 2 weeks ago. Was a bit over $200. Lots of $$$ for me to spend on a ladder, but well worth it. Very heavy duty and stable.

Gorilla ladder was a near perfect clone of the Little Giant. Wing Industries/LG sued Home Depot for patent infringment and won, HD no longer has the gorilla ladder made for them and is selling off the existing stock. For a while Little Giant would not deal with HD but suddenly is marketing thru many retail channels including HD and even Linens and Things. gotta make that money. Glad to see a little guy win on a patent infringment over a big company and especially an original American product. Expensive, yes, but I'm real satisified with my 22 ft model LG, nothing else compares with it for a safe feeling and sturdyness.

get a Werner. they are sturdier than Little Giant, and less expensive. you don't have to pay for all the tv adds.

You can get the Werner at Costco's for about a third of the L.G. ladder.

The little giant is made in USA so that's why it costs more. The others are from over the pond.

Keller's didn't look as sturdy to me - HD had 3 brands set up, and going 1/2 way up, the Keller was shaking. Seemed as bad as the wooden junk we have around the farm.

The Gorrilla model seemed pretty good and solid, like that would compare well to the Little Giant? It's priced between Keller & LG.

I can deal with heights - in my own slow way. But I just can't _stand_ a ladder that shakes in both directions under me. I totally freeze up.

So, I said the heck with it & spent the bucks on the LG this summer.

I can actually go 20 feet off the ground & function now. In my own slow way..... ;)

I bought one of those 6-7 years ago at Menards. They work ok, but they wear out faster than the "Little Giant". After about a year or so the locking handles started to wear bad. Eventually got to the point it wasn't useable anymore.
