I have a jumpbox that won't hold a charge any more. Could the thing be taken apart and the charger part used to charge other batteries?

Interstate carry that type of battery. Take it apart at with your trickle charger try to charge it for maybe 20 minutes. If it will not hold a charge try this. Most of them have a little plastic plate that covers the fill holes. With a very small screw driver pop it off and see how much liquid is in there. It should JUST be damp. You want no free liquid or maybe a drop or two. If the little plates have warped then it is renew time. If you can take it back do it. Jeffcat

I just bought a Harbor Freight jumpbox on Monday
and in the instructions it tells how to change the battery.
So I guess a new battery is available for it.
You can probably get one for yours too.

I think you'll find that TSC Stores carry those replacement batteries. I know they do here in Canada, just can't remember what they're called.

Probably, however, I"d guess that it is a pretty light charger, maybe a trickle charger. If you know where to look, the batteries in those jumpboxes are common to alarm systems, etc, if you have someone in the industry, you probably can find takeout batteries for next to nothing, and they"ll last quite a while in your jumpbox.

are you sure its the battery?I bought a brand new 1 that woulkdn"t charge.it turned out to be the adapter was bad.i went to radio shack and bought a new one and it works fine now.
