I got a 93 F250 4wd with a 460 and auto transmission. The shift lever is hard to move as though the linkage is stiff. It is hard to get into park. How do you adjust/loosen the linkage?

Thanks. This site is very helpful.

The linkage under the dash, above your right shin, is falling apart and/or the cable from there to your tranny is failing, and wedging, and needs to be replaced. Take a look under there, while moving the shifter, and you should be able to see what the problem is.

there is what ford calls a tube and plunger in the steering column. they're made out of pot metal so they bend or break fairly easy. your shifter connects to the tube at the top and under the hood is where the linkage connects to the other end of the tube. from what you describe, either one or both might be your problem.
