I have a model ACD1 Gardner Denver 2 stage compressor. Anyone know anything about it? Wondering how fast it should run.

Thanks
Gary

I'm not familiar with that model of GD but my experience with similar types indicates that the pump speed is usually kept between 600 and 1000 rpm. I run all my larger 2 stage pumps at less than 850 rpm. to cut down the wear on the old devils. I collect them so I'm not really after high air output.
The lower 600 rpm range is established to account for "splash" lubricated pumps. Most pump builders consider 400 rpm as the minimum speed to insure proper oiling of the compressor if no oil pump is used.
