OT FIREPLACE INSERT

Back again---I have the fireplace insert and was thinking about replacing it with gas---see thread below.
After some thought and hearing from you folks--we have decided to keep the insert in place.
Here is the new question---still loo9king to have some heat on these early fall late spring days when you don't want to fire up the big wood boiler.
Thinking of going to a couple of electric heaters--one for the living room and one for the computer -den- family room.
Not real concerned with the cost of electricity just want to be comfortable. Probably would need a 220 hookup to do much good.
Would appreciate your thoughts concerning this.

Hi Lenray,

About two hours ago I started a response to you in which I suggested what you have now decided on. The reason I abandoned it was because when you remove the cost consideration, your decision will largely depend on your taste.

For relatively quick heating I would favor wall mounted fan forced 220V electric heaters. Shop for quiet. All electric heat is considered to be 100% efficient so the factors that will matter between different heaters of the same wattage will be appearance, noise level, price and manufacturer's reputation.
