Mixing cordless tool chargers ??

I have a 12v Black & Decker cordless driver, and a 12v Makita cordless driver. The Makita charger has "disappeared".

Although the Makita battery pack won't fit into the B&D charger, if I get the polarity correct, is there any problem in jumpering the B&D charger to the Makita battery pack?

I fthe battery composition is different.. don't intermix chargers. I.E. if one pack is for NIMH, and the other is for NICAD.. or LI etc..

Makita chargers aren't that expensive (compared to burning up a good battery). I see them on ebay all the time. I would worry about the charger overcharging the battery or overheating it.

I have a 12 volt Porter Cable Magnaquench battery that I charge using a Ryobi 12 volt charger but it did fit the charger like it was made for it and it has the third sensing wire connect. I don't know if it is sensing temperature of voltage.
