I have a Blackhawk jack that was leaking. I replaced the seals and gaskets and the leaking has stopped. My trouble is that the cylinder rod does not extend. What did I do wrong?

Thanks folks. I bled the jack as you suggested and it works fine, without any leaks. My grandkids can rebuild it next time.

The S23 is a pretty heavy duty oldy goldie, you should be ok if you didn't mess up anything in the valves. To bleed the air, open the release valve 1/2 turn or so and pump wth a full stroke (all the way up & down) 5 or 6 times. Close release firmly and it should go all the way up & hold. I'll try to remember to look at a print when I get back to work Tues to see if there's anything tricky about this one assembly or tool-wise, it's been a while since I last did one.

You will probably have to bleed the system, that is-get the air out of it. Check with a mechanic or somebody who fixes hydraulic equipment, to find out how to do it!
