This darn new HP! I'm so bad at this. I just got set up(by my nephew) and twice now, about every week my shorcut on my desktop for dialing my internet disappears. On top of that when I do get to the "dial up page" it won't let me right click and create a shortcut. Lastly, on my old setup each desktop icon for a website, would open with the dial up box showing, and I don't know how to set that up. Any advice for someone from the stoneage?

I have a HP and it came with XP SP2. To call up your XP dialer just open your browser, if it set to a home page it will open the dialer if it dont pop up open a favorite then open a page since it not connect it will pull up the dialer. If your browser is MS Explorer go get Foxfire for free. Also go to this site for any XP questions and set up. Did you biuld you XP systems discs copy as stated in your manual? Hi Tom,

Unlock the task bar and desk top screen then make your icon then lock them both up. See if that helps.

Goto network connections to make a short cut to a dialer. The short cut icon can not have the same name as the main dialer icon. Just adding a number/letter is enough of a change.

You didn't say what OS your using but XP and 98 work that way.
