Opinions on nailers?

I'm going to have to buy a few nailers soon. I'm trying to get info on a factory rebuilt Paslode framer, finisher, wide crown and narrow crown stapler. I'm trying to go through the local hardware store but so far they haven't had time to check with their supplier. The back up plan is a new Senco framer from Lowe's that includes a finish nailer. I've used Paslode and Bostich nailers for years and I've rebuilt both types - not a whole lot to them, really. Has anyone got any recomendations as to the best brand of nailers? Thanks for any info!

I just got a factory reconditioned Bostitch F21PL on ebay. They came out new in 2005. It came with an interchangeable trigger and a metal connector attachment. It looks like new except for a few small wear spots in the paint at the area next to the airline fitting. The warranty is for one year. The first job I'm going to use it for is side and roof sheathing. I chose the F21PL because the local Home Depot carries only plastic collated nails in framing sizes, mostly full round head. It takes nails from 2" to 3 1/2" and as short as 1 1/2" for the metal plate nails. Delivered cost was $154. Email if you want the dealer's name. Whenever you buy something on the internet be sure you get an invoice/receipt with name and date of purchase. I bought an item a few months ago and no receipt was included. It carried a free repair/replace USA lifetime guarantee (30 years in Europe). It now needs repair and the fine print says I need to send a receipt showing date of purchase because the item could be out of warranty!

OK - apparently there's no such thing as a rebuilt Paslode. Sounds like there's a bunch of the Impulse Cordless units but the pnumatics are run till they puke! I have one of the old original Paslode Impulse finish nailers (the gray ones) - it's great and I love it, but I want something the "knuckle draggers" will have a hard time tearing up! The pnumatics are harder to destroy, don't need gas, batteries, etc - I'm looking for as close to "idiot proof" as I can get!
I almost picked up a Porter Cable framer in a pawn shop today for $130. It was a clip head and in some places in our area they won't meet code. Looks like the Senco is gonna be it - still not a bad deal - gotta check your options! Thanks for the info!

The Bostitch PT33F runs paper tape nails both clipped & round, as well as doing metal connector nails too.

Only ran it this summer, but seems to work well & hasn't cared who's brand of paper nails I put in it.

Have paslode and love em. Built many houses and no problems. I have a roofer and framer. Also have a bostich brad nailer that seems great but I have only had it 2 years.

My brother-in-laws in construction in TX all use Duo-Fast, and say that the majority in that area use those. In my area it is Senco and Paslode that are the most popular. I have the Paslode and have never had any trouble at all, in fact it has fallen off of some pretty high roofs with no damage at all. If I were replacing mine now I would go with one of the lighter weight ones as mine is so heavy.
