Anybody out there got a parts tractor of this pursuation. I'm looking for a mower deck and various implements. Kohler was very tired. I've repowered this one with a 16HP Onan out of an old Sears rider, which works great. It now has a tiller and a front Loader. Any Gravely lovers out there?

Bolens stuff-no
Gravely stuff-yes
Gravely lover-definitely!!
Are you familiar with the Model D&L Gravely Network ? They put out a newsletter called "Old Gravelys" that's just packed with tech tips, parts sources and interesting stories. A MUST-HAVE for any old gravely owner or restorer. Write to Steve Wilson, editor&publisher at sawilson@worldnet.att.net

I have a 1948 model L with about 10 attatchments and the usual spare parts piles. There's nothing like good old American engineering !!

Kevin
Here in Dallas there are a few interested folks but parts are dear and interest is slight. I restored mine with junk yard parts and ended up adapting an 8 hp Briggs carb to fit the intake of the Gravely. Do people look at you kind of funny when you ask about Gravely stuff or is it just my imagination?
Thanks for the news letter info.
John

John, they sometimes do look at me a bit differently than the guy with the Sears craftsman ride-on. It takes em a little time to understand why I'd pay the same amount of money for a 50 year old Gravely that they paid for a new Sears. It sinks in when they're changing belts, mower decks and transmissions while I simply add more gas. Plus the fact that I simply enjoy the sound of it over the newer "disposable" equipment. If you need parts for yours, The best outfit I ever had dealings with is Richards Lawn and Garden, 800-827-4551. This guy knows his stuff and is more than happy to sell a used part if it's appropriate for your needs and/or wallet. Take care and keep your thumb on the throttle. Kevin

I am in need of a replacement 50" mower deck for a Gravely 816S 1975 model year. The sheet metal is slowly disappearing.

Please advise as to where I can buy a replacement deck (sheet metal only)

Thank you in advance

Kevin, I am very interested in Gravely tractors. I would like to know more about the Gravely Network.
How much does the Newsletter cost?. Is the network a Club?. If so how many members? I am helping my uncle restore a 1946 model L. I am looking to get a complete set of manuals and I am interested in what attachments were available.

Please E-mail me at WrightSL@aol.com

Thanx,

Shawn
