I need more propane in my tank to run the water heater and the market price is $2.74 in my area....Holy crap, too much money. I told her there is no way I am paying $2.74 and she said well if you had a contract price then it would be $1.86, I said no thanks there is a company near me selling it for $1.64 and I may change companies when the tank runs out. She said a guy would call me to negotiate a lower price..... I guess the leverage I have is to dump them and they sweeten up to you. We will see.

I signed a contract with Ferrellgas about a month ago for $1.64 per gal. I shopped around and found the lowest price and Ferrell agreed to match it. Even tho lots of people I know have had problems with them I don't have many complaints. Around here it's Ferrell, Hicksgas, Amerigas or Ashland. They all seem to charge the same price.

MAN! Can't believe some of the prices you guys are paying! Local CO-OP just filled mine last week for $1.29 contract ($1.44 regular). Don't think Ferrelgas is in these parts to much.

I have the same deal because I just use propane for a water heater and not enough use for the prebuy. I will heat my hot water in a kettle over a wood fire in the driveway before I would pay them $2.74 a gallon.

I gave ferrell gas the bum rush 2 months ago. $2.78 a gallon back then. The electric company gave me all kinds of incentives to switch to electric, not the least for a really fair price on a Sepco 80 gallon stone lined hot water heater.
I figured $200+ a month for hot water and cooking was too steep. Ferrell gas would not even talk to me about an energy survey. They're Gone.

I contracted in central iowa for $1.42, not from Ferrell gas though.

If you are nice to the driver he can drop the price. The MN phone # is a sucker price.
