I have a cracked block on a 990 David Brown diesel it was previously welded but still leaked I ground off the welded area to find a two cracks about 10 inches long and it is circular and has small spider cracks in it. It seems that pinning would not work now any ideas or tips on using JB Weld?
thanks

Rod,

I've never used it on a tractor block crack. It worked ok on a car I had a few years ago, just had to redo it 2x per year. Had better luck after I really followed the directions only had to redo it once; clean absolutely all the paint and oil (I like windex after a wire bruch in a drill and washing with laquer thinner. Then apply.

I'd say get a used block if it were mine. Pleasent Hill in KY has a good selection, reasonable. 502-845-4467, they will ship. Also, I got a rebuilt crank from Quality Farm and Country. Well pleased with it, I'd say the blocks are as good. Good luck.
