I want to add drain in a oil filter for my super major fordson. I plan to drill adn tap the housing then braze the red brass pipe in place. I dont know what size hole to drill to start before using the pipe tap. Thank You.

"R" drill, which is .339 diameter. For the best thread, there is also a 1/8 NPT reamer, that cuts the correct taper, prior to to tapping. Are you sure you want to braze the pipe in place ?

did it today but just used teflon tape and pipe dope. Also drilled and taped oil pan drain plug for same reason. Maybee if i drain occasionally I can catch water before it makes its way into the oil pump and oil filter. I think the super major needs to be rebuilt and just want to put it off for a while.
