Well, after three months of pondering I finally broke down today and bought a NAPA Performance Series gas air compressor 10hp. I have been wanting one and decided they weren"t getting any cheaper. I decided to get the gas so I could use it at my farm and other places with no electricity.

Does anyone else have one. I pick it up tomorrow. Christmas came early this year.

I worked a construction site for 3 weeks with a mi-t-m compressor with a Honda 5.5 hp. It idled down when pressure built up. Ran quiet. We also ran a generator with an 11 hp B&S. Much noisier. Got to be long days listening to them both run. The briggs was a Y2K purchase and had not hardly been run. It took a week of running to break it in and then it quit using oil. I don't think the Honda used a drop.

I dont know about the NAPA branded compressors but I've had excellent service out of my (2 years old now but I bought it new) Champion w/ 12.5 Kohler it does anything I need including running a pressure pot sandblaster.

I have a Craftsman which had a briggs engine on it. Wore the briggs out and put a Teucumshe on. Broke down now because of gas setting. It vibrates something terrible. Can't keep gauges working. Would be really nice to have one that would slow down when not pumping. It has been handy though.
