Do any of you fellows have a Chicago Pnumatic
(Sp?) 3/8 drive air ratchet? I bought one about 15 years ago, and it never seemed to have much oomph! I've tried everything I could think of, but not much improvment. Is this just the nature of this thing or what??? BTW CHICAGO
Pnumatic???? In VERY small print it says,
JAPAN!!!!! !! ":-0

Every CP I've had has been gutless.
CP used to have a good reputation 20 years ago, but I never had much luck with them. The best air ratchet I've had is a snap-on, not cheap by a long shot but it kicks a.. , my favorite impact is Ingersoll, It will pull things the other guys Snappy's and CP's won't touch. BTW that small print is even worse when it say's CHINA!

Back when I was in that lil' service station 15 years ago, I tried a little 3/8 impact from snap-on,that I really liked. It was kinda square,
with a offset head, great fer shock and exaust work! At the time it was $80.00. I kinda wish I woulda bought it now, seemed like a lot back then!!!

HEY BIG MIKE.....
c.p. has been made in japan for awhile now i see,
lookout for the tiawanese copies sold in harbor
frieght. mine (1/2" i.r. copy) had sleeve bearings
in the output shaft (just back of the square drive)
i.r. (made in japan) has a needle brg. ( it isn't
much bigger in dia. than the sleeve brg. hard to spot)

btw, did kim get really mad at us and pull the tales
board altogether? i can't get in and it shows
no postings? maybe it is just down for awhile.

did you get to read my last ramblings? what
is a m.f. 1250 articulated?

what was 'DA TRUCK going to announce about
deisel power, i had heard there own engine
was not popular and they were thinkin' about
cat or detroit (i kinda like my izusu thank you)
but perkins makes a sweet little 4 cy 110 hp
that i bet would be just right 900 lbs.
(that includeds the airbrake xpressor, gotta
have that to run the horns...locomotive ones
in my case...damm they are loud)

Hey Doug! From what I gather, Tales page should be back someday, don't know when.
Don't know what kinda diesel power Chevys gonna put in, but the other day a friend of mine
who's a salesman at the local Rock store let me sit in a newZ-71. Black, 4X4, V8, Loaded, All da' toys!!! Only about 27 G's!!! Looked at a 2WD, V-8 Automatic. 20 GRAND! Think I'll keep ma' Rock fer awhile. Only got 72,000 on her. The only M.F. I'am familiar with is our lil' 220 at the shop. The next one in ma' own fleet to be traded
is the wifes Astro van. If big knows whats good fer him, I'd better stop lookin' at new pick-ups fer awhile!!! :0)

To my knowledge All are made in Japan, or Tiawan, even the Snap On are contract built over there. CP is good, easy to get parts, IR old is good, new suck donky doo. tollerances are poor, and feel terrible in the hand. ATD so -so. Campell Housefield ok if you pick it up once a year, other than that forget it. Call 1-800-328-0457 for TOOL ON SALE the largest tool dealer/hrdw. in Minnesota for a free catalog, they carry many lines @ good $ & free shipping on most items. Link
