Is there a way to use a pressure switch on a pump

I've seen them for less than 50 bucks at Depot, plus you would have it for other things.

You would need some type of momentary switch to provide a current path AROUND the relay to get the pump started, and pressure built up, at which point the pump will continue to run with the momentary switch is released, until it gain runs out of water, and the pressure again drops.

OR, you could hang a "pump down" float switch for a sump pump in the cistern, at a level where it would shut the pump "off", before it ran out of water.

Here's a listing for SquareD FSG2M42040, 20/40psi, $23 or it comes in 30/50psi for the same price. Both are manual reset.

I bought several pump switchs from this company this summer with good results and his prices were reasonable. I only bought once from him so take it with a grain of salt.
