I bought an unopened gallon of Shell Freezone AF that's been sitting on the shelf in a garage for an unknown time. I began pouring it into a bucket to mix with a gal of water, and lots of jelly like lumps came out. I squished them up and I'm trying to strain it thru a screened funnel but it's very slow going. Is the stuff still ok to use in an older vehicle???

I had some Peak brand antifreeze that did that. Peak Customer Service said that had to be very old antifreeze and that it was the silicate coming out of solution and that I should not use it.

Get a fairly new plastic gallon jug/ bottle, dig hole in back yard, below frost line, set jug in bottom, and fill with dirt! then, make a neat cross, with the name of an imaginary old dog you used to have, put the name on the cross, fill hole, mound dirt up. then, nobody will ask about it, except ask how old the dog was, and in time, it'll all be forgotten, or remembered as the grave of an old dog! From the fertile mind of Rusty Jones!
