I been looking at cordless impact guns like the DeWalt 12 and 18 volt models. I am leaning towards the collet drive over the 1/2 inch square drive. Would this be a handy tool for tightening and loosening fasteners on farm equipment like rake teeeth? Opinions would be very welcomed.

I was looking at the DeWalt 36 volt, it was intence. Well worth the extra money from the 18. I plan to buy one by next year.

Might want to check out the new DeWalt 36V. Supposed to have a lot more power than the 18V without adding any weight. Better batteries, too.

Last year I bought a Snap-On 1/2" cordless impact.I'm surprised what it will do..I took lug nuts off my '98 Mack RD-690-P spoke wheels..It surprises a lot of people..I haven't needed the air compressor on my service truck for impact work since. It's 18 volt , lasts a long time and charges in an hour..But I paid for the name...

I have a Hitachi, it was very handy when we put up a grain bin and tightened several hundred bolts from inside the bin, it capabilites surprized me.

I have a 1/2 drive one with a collet adapter. Great tools, thought they were gonna be useless compared to my air impacts. Drives about 30 4" x 5/8" lag bolts per battery. Drives umpteen million roof fasteners or other screws. So nice for driving #12 5" screws its crazy! We are working on scafolding hanging out with one arm doing this stuff and the guns are great.

Now mine will do car lug nuts barely and likely your rake teeth are easier to change that. I can't even budge my rake teeth with my 450 ftlb air impact. They need the blue wrench.
