I am planning on building a front end loader for my 316 John Deere Garden Tractor. I want to use standard clevis end cylinders as they are about half the price of a tee end cylinder. Does anyone know of a place that offers premade mount points for clevis cylinders? I would like to get my hands on some of them and save myself the time of making them.

I think you guys are missing my point. I do not need a place to purchase the hydraulics. That is taken care of. All I am looking for is someone who distributes a teardrop shapped piece with a hole in it that I can weld to the frame and then fasten the cylinders onto.

Probably better off going to a welding or machine shop that can make you a couple brackets.

What they are trying to tell you is to find a place that will sell the CORRECT cylinders for the price you can pay then you wont have to build a botched up machine. If the price is such a problem make the end pieces you need. And use the CP cylinders. Not only that some of the places listed have mountians of surplus junk you have to ask a lot. So I think you missed the point. Building stuff always requires a lot of searching for suppliers!!

Could you please share with me what it is that makes a tee end so much superior to a clevis end? I don't see much difference. And until you can find me a tee end cylinder in the right sizes (2x16 and 2x8) for cheaper than 68 bucks in my garage, I am going to use what I can find locally. I can not imagine that shipping a hydraulic cylinder would be cheap.

Well here is a Re: Custom Fabricated Hydraulics in reply to Ryan - WI, 06-26-2006 06:52:04
Well here is a fix, I forgot that it wasnt a real tractor just one of those lawn thingy's. For that you could just weld on a couple of big washers to mount the cylinders to.

I"m not sure if they missed the point or not. To buy hydraulic cylinder parts you need to look at a hydraulic supply house, right.
Try this one also.
