1st off I wanna thank all who replied awhile back on this product. It did help. We did purchase the product, enough to do the entire house top to bottom. I figured it out to 1650 sq ft, but the distributor figured 1400. They said if Im short, they will order more at the sale price. Not that it matters, we picked Aspen grey, which was a bit darker than we expected. Not really an issue. I will have to re-do most outside electric. The prior owner screwed 2x8 p.t. wood to cele-o-tex, rarely hitting a stud. Most fixtures/recptls are very loose. Hose bibs need 2/b extended, no big deal besides time. I've got a smaller wet saw, cuts the brik w/o problem. The actual install of the brik seems (kinda) straight forward. The one side I've started, it aint lookin bad. Now my questions..
1 - I haven't addressed the issue of drilling or cutting holes for pipes. Sizes would be 3/4"(hose bibs), about 1 1/2"(gas line) and a bit over 2" (furnace and sump discharges). Buy or rent? Do they make hole saws for concrete in these sizes. This may be the only time I'll need the tools, but I am saving on install labor. My wife don't mind as long as it don't go to waste, and aint to expensive. 2 - Propane water heater is a thru the wall unit. Instructions say to frame over openings. Im afraid heat and wood framing are not good. Heater vent appears 2/b 12" dia w/a 4" inside pipe. Thanks for your time. I do appreciate it. Have fun, ....don t. ....

Answers to your questions. I did a wainscote on my new house a couple of years ago, Novabrik is a good product and looks nice when done.
1. For the pipe penetrations I think I would slit the brik at the penetration and get a dry cut diamond wheel for a 4 1/2" grinder and kinda nibble the holes then caulk around the pipes.
2. Usually on direct vent appliances the smaller inside pipe is the hot (exhaust) and the larger outside is the outside air intake for the appliance. If this is the case then you can frame right up to the outside pipe. Maybe check the install manual or get with manufacturer to verify any clearances. Hope the install goes well. If you have any questions post them and I'll try to answer. Don't claim to be an expert just a DIY'er but after comparing mine to the stuff local contractors have done mine looks pretty good.

#2 - I agree. The center 4" is hot, while the outer ring is cool-er. I just wasn't sure.

You probably have already thought of it but Novabrik has a residential and commercial install manual that is downloadable on their website. Lots of good info and tips, they don't cover all the bases but a guy can get the basic idea and go from there.

Yep, gottem all b/4 we purchased PLUS I got a booklet from Menards, which is really the same thing. Like you said, it aint the best but its better than nothing. The only time I've really got to work on this is weekends. I've got vacation comming up. Plan to go fishing in the mornings, work on the house afternoon/evenings. Once you get going, it don't go up to bad. Thanks again.....don t. .....

Thats the reason I used them. Worked on the house in the winter, didn't want to deal with frozen mortar and all those things. The lumber yard where I bought them was closing out their stock (problems with the distributor) and sold them to me for .30 each.
