Power Washer Pump

I bought a Craftsman power washer over the weekend at a swap meet, motor runs great, guy said pump leaks and needs rebuit. His wife started it without water. Called Sears, no rebuild kit avaiable, but of course they sell the entire pump for $181. I tore into it last night, looks like it just needs some o-rings to me as they looked like the wrong size. Does anyone know who built the pump, or if I can just replace the o-rings and be O.K.?

More than likely it is a Briggs and Stratton portable power product washer. Post the model number and I will see what I can get in the way of a part number for you. Most of the time you buy an o-ring kit for about 35-40.00

I left mine out in the unheated garage last Fall & didn't think of it until it was too late & the pump froze & cracked. Ordered a new one & like you said $181.00. When it came it was in a Briggs & Stratton box.

If you have further troubles may want to go to sears.com and onto repair parts. Type in Model# and mine had both parts list and illustrations. Some counter persons are very good, but some don't have a clue what they're looking for and are the biggest EXPERTS. lol

Replace the O-Rings and see what happens. Be sure the cylinders are clean and smooth.
