Does anyone know if Fleet tools are still made/sold anywhere?

About 1963 my Dad bought his first "real" socket set, a half-inch drive Fleet set. It was a big deal for him at the time. Think it cost $25-$35 and at the time, for him, that was big money.

He bought it at one of the farm stores in Minnesota and it was/is guaranteed for life. A few weeks ago I did something stupid and broke the ratchet. It's not like I can't afford to buy a new ratchet, but I'd like to get a "Fleet" brand to keep the set intact and if some retailer will honor the warranty, all the better.

Finding a Fleet brand is just a small way keeep this little memory intact so to speak. My Dad died in 2001.

Even if you find the brand it probably won't be the same. In 1962 I bought a set of Craftsman tools. 2 years ago my 1/4" ratchet finally just wore out. I took it to Sears and they gave me another one. It doesn't look like the old one except for the word Craftsman on it. It even looks cheap. It isn't near as good as the old one was and it has already got lots of play in it. Terriable!

As I was buying tools on Ebay, I learned that FLEET and P&C, PENENS, maybe others, and finally PROTO were in the same family.
My suggestion to you is, watch for any of those brands, you may find a match, for replacement, or for parts for in your housing.

Our "Car Quest" sells Proto. Maybe some do in other areas of the country.
