Get rid of all livestock on the property and the population of flies, mosquitoes and deer flies will plummet.

My next door neighbor on one side is a swamp. If the county mosquito commision finds larva they spray for free. Its probably too late to call them now this weekend.Anyhow the guy that came one year said same as Old said:get rid of any stading water to begin with.Up to 10,000 can breed in a kids pool, thousands in a garbage can lid.Watch planters, little tykes blue slide holds water, other toys.I think raid yard guard is usless and I was at a party where a licsensed pesticide guy almost got into a fight with another guy over spraying the area where his kids were playing.I know its has its own drawbacks but if I have to work on something down by my barn I wear Off spray.I cant stand the idea of the mosquito pumping some fluid into me to get the blood out.Whats killing me now is knats. At about dusk they eat me alive.See if your county has a mosquito commision and call for a spray. Its supposed to be a non-toxic wax product of some sort.My mom used to give out some Avon product [maybe Skin So Soft]at family gatherings. It wasnt as smelly as Off or Cutters.

First get rid of all standing water in the area, about 1/2 mile or more. Old tires, buckets etc. Ya if your close to town and have a small place thats that some thing you can do.

get some tiki torches and fill them with citronela oil, should be able to keep most of them away and will provide some light after it gets dark
