OT:Ceiling fan won't reverse

I got aceiling fan thats been going the same direction for at least five years. I tried reversing it and it wouldn't go, even if I spun it by hand. So I gave up and now it won't go either direction. What gives?

most likely that little -silde switch has got dirty best fix ive found is to take it apart and spray exectra cleaner in the switch works about two thirds of the time only other thing is to replace the switch

Work the reversing switch back and forth several times to clean the contacts. Do this with the power switch off. After working switch then try again. Your reversing switch is probably dirty inside.
