Hey guys I have a old walk behind that I cant get started, Seems like there is little or no spark. I replaced the ignition coil/points and condenser before winter, I had it running and was using it for a couple weeks now but now I cant get it started. any Ideas what I can check to pin point why the spark is weak or not there at all.

if it has mag. points on the flywheel then use sandpaper to clean them off, and make sure the spaceing is all correct.

K I think I fixed it never had a chance to fire it up yet today, The coil was abit 2 far from the fly wheel not producing enough of a spark.

Jay,

Does your mower have a kill/blade brake handle on it? I fixed a neighbor's mower a while back by replacing the cable that goes from the lever on the handle to the kill/brake lever on the mower. The cable had stretched to the point that it couldn't be adjusted enough to fully activate the kill switch.

Just a thought.

One of the first things to check is the points, they maybe burned or dirty, either will cause you problems. Also you might need a new spark plug
