I have an international 1086 that needs a recharge of 134a refrigerant. I am unable to get the compressor to fire up to recharge the system. I have done this on trucks and use a piece of wire to bypass the low pressure switch to the compressor. The 1086 has one wire to the compressor. Any help would be appreciated.

You may have a bad pressure switch. Usually doesn't take much to at least get one to kick in to pull the rest of the refridgerant in.

I just went through this on our 1086 last week. There is one pressure switch on the condenser in front of the radiator and the other is in the top of the cab in front of the radio.

With a long jumper wire, jumper from a source of battery power, to the clutch connector pigtail.

P.S....

Watch your charging gauges, so as not to overpressurize the system, if there's a problem, since you've bypassed the pressure switch(es).
