I've been looking for a drill press to use in light steel fabrication (3/4" - 1" holes in up to 1/2" thick mild steel, etc)and came across a Palmgren Drill Press on Amazon.com. Does anybody know anthing about them, good or bad? I understand most of this type of equipment is made in Taiwan so I'm a little suspicious of buying something that may have a bad rep. there are only a few buyers comments on them on Amazon but they are very favorable. If anyone know where you could find good used equipment, I'd like to hear about that option also.
Any advice from the folks in this forum would be appreciated. Thanks in avance.

I would guess that Palmgren has just slapped the name on a generic Chinese drill. Palmgren has made vises & rotary tables for many years. Those products were not bad , but mainly were for home shops. I suggest trying to find an older Delta, or Walker-Turner drill, if you can luck up on one.
