My neighbors house is about 150+ feet from mine and at 4AM his alarm went off (loud sirens) it took him 5 minutes or so to get it shut off and then it went off 2 more times around 5am. What would any of you guys do in this situation? alarm misstrips happen but gimmie a friggin break. I told my wife that if it happens again I should think about getting my 12 gauge pump gun and blast off a couple of shells into the backyard to wake him up quicker. (it also may get the cops to show up at his house)

My wife is on a 1st name basis with the alarm system's call center. They don't even bother to ask for the security code anymore when they call to see what she had done to set the thing off this time. I think she had tripped just about every one of the 22 zones at least once. Some of her favourites are to set the system and leave doors unlocked and barely pushed shut. She doesn't bypass the motion detector in the shed when livestock are in there for the winter. Or she leaves the place without setting the alarm, locks some doors and leaves others open. She also likes to leave the windows open for fresh air. Doesn't occur to her the wind will swing an interior door shut with a slam which trips the glass breakage sensor. Doesn't matter if the air condioning or the heat is on. She thinks she needs a window open for fresh air. Then she's dorking with the thermostat and complaining the system won't keep the place cool or warm enough. She also waits for the hottest days to fire up the oven for baking and boiling pounds of steam from a huge pot of what ever on the stove top. Then she complains the system doesn't work and the hydro bill is too high.

Give the guy a break. If it was a common occurance it'd be different but from what your saying it was a one time occurance.....So come on, and be a good neighbor yourself..... Give the guy a break..... ..

If if woke you up 150 feet away, imagine what it was like in his house! I wouldn't be surprised if he disconnects the thing after this. Wait and see; everybody deserves a break once. If it happens again, then you need to talk to him. Don't do anything rash; next time around it might be you who needs a break.

Call the cops - every time, act dumb, just reporting an alarm at .... Let the cops figure out what to do. They have little patience with repeated calls on misfiring alarm systems!
