Just picked one up. It"s the older version not the Contractor 2. Was pretty full of sawdust on the inside. Am experiencing what sounds like bearing noise after putting the belt back on. (Turn it on and it doesn"t just whoosh, it sort of whistles a little....just doesn"t sound right). Tried to line up the pulleys but the belt seems a little stretched (the motor is all the way down on the swivel mount....)

Does anyone have any advice on how to lube the blade shaft bearings? Is it necessary? will 3in1 oil be the best?

Will replacing the belt with a link belt improve things any?

Any other tuneup tricks I should be aware of?

thanks for whatever advice y"all can give me...

Chances are it's the bearings screaming for a
little lube. I have a Dewalt radial arm that does
the same thing. I used a little spray of Kroil
and the noise clears up. Don't use too much and the 3in1 oil should work fine. You can probably
get a belt at either the hardware store or an
autoparts store. Look for one 1/2 or inch smaller.
