My Paasche VL-1 airbrush has 3 tip setups. #5(largest) works fine, but #1 and #3 will spray a burst of paint then stop then spray and stop and so on. I,m spaying automotive acrylic urethane. What size would be the best? Thanks.

I had this same problem with a regular paint gun. It turned out that the gun had a leak in the paint delivery system going from the cup to the nozzle.
A rebuild took care of the problem. It seems I had a bad "O" ring.

I have always found it extremely crucial to remove the needle after each cleaning with solvent and wipe it absolutely clean....run solvent through the gun and replace the needle and spray and spray...straight solvent, water or whatever cleans your particular paint most effectively.

auto acrylics are hard on sprayers...you really need to stay ahead of them cause once they are clogged they are a bear to get going again

good luck

Hi max, Assuming you have adequate air supply, I have a couple of thoughts. The type of paint you are spraying isn't the easiest to clean out of the gun, so make sure no residue has accumulated at any point inside the gun. Another posibility is that the paint is to thick, and requires a higher percentage of reducer. As to nozzle size, the only advice I can offer is to the size that best suits the work you're doing. Good luck...Al English

It even does this with straight thinner.

Hey max, Did it ever work. If not maybe it's defective. In any case I'm out of ideas. At this point I'd be trying to get some help from the manufacturer or distributor.
