I noticed the new Lowe's carry Nibco fitting. Are they as good quality as the nibco fittings I can get at Plumbing Wholesalers? Thanks

Nibco stands for northern indiana brass co. They have always manufactured most all of their fittings to the MINIMUM standard it takes to get by. I have been a pipefitter for over 30 years and if you take a nibco 90 degree sweat ell and hold it up next to any other mfgr"s offering it is teeny, chintzy and smaller. I avoid their stuff whenever possible.

When I used to be a mfg rep I paid more attention to the brand names, but any American mfg I have found to be better than Nibco. All this is my personal opinion, but Silvabrite 100 is the best solder I have used. (Recent experience with it). Whirlaway garbage disposers are MUCH better than Insinkeraters (Whirlaway has a DC motor, much greater starting torque). Also GSW or John Wood water heaters (made in Canada) are the best water heaters on the market, but are sometimes hard to find. Good luck John Lobb
