Here in northern Minnesota we have mostly clay. We wanted to plant a garden and found the old barn site because it was raised and the grass was lush. Turned out to have black dirt, almost peat moss where the barn was, so we hauled the dirt to where we wanted the garden.

The Bad: s I was working it, I blew a front tire and spun it off the rim of my Ford/NH 1920. I found a few nails and decided to buy a sweeper magnet. Then found nearly a hundred.

Duhhh! They probably burned down the barn leaving a mess of nails for me! I think we going to plant blueberries, raspberries and strawberries and leave it!

I 'm going to rig-up something to hand a couple magnets in front of my tires so I don't get more blow-
outs. Why does this always happen to me!

I too live in northern minnesota (in sand)..Went to father in laws this morning hauling tractor/trailer with my pickup...He has a steep narrow drive...Started out around 7 this morning...On the way there the surge brakes or whatever locked up on me about a block from his house..so i decides to go up his driveway anyway.....while backin the tractor off the trailer the tractor died, and consequently my three point arms plowed about a yard of dirt...couldn"t restart tractor cause of the angle of the hill it musta thought it ran out of gas...got gas started it up, but the transmission was locked up....tried to pull with my 99 chev in 4wd on pavement cause i didn"t want to lay black marks....blew something on the transfer case 4wd (i don"t even want to know right now...)..Got the free dirt home about 3-5 yards...broke safey chain on trailer gone..

I"m thinking this dirt probably cost me $1000 today...you ain"t the only one who had a bad day...but, kindergarten roundup, and children/family can make even a bad day allright...deanop

don't feel like you're the only one getting rained on. i have a nice home and building near a busy hi-way. every morning there's mcdonalds bags and beer cans in my yard. i've been looking some land in a more private area no where near town. in other words i got to start over.

Set up a large box out front, with a large target painted on it, and the hoodliums will throw all their cans in it! The local scrap yard is paying .70 a lb. for aluminum cans! You could get rich!!

Open up your own store along the busy hiway and let the money flow in.
