'50s Vintage Craftsman Table Saw

My current table saw is a 8" cast iron Craftsman. It is a great old saw, probably 75+ years old. The thing I don't like about it is you have to tip the entire table to make angle cuts. It's like an airplane going into a curve when cutting a rather large piece of plywood. Needless to say I don't use that function very often. I have in my collection a '50's vintage Craftsman 8" saw that is lacking a rip fence and the electric motor mounting plate. Any chance of finding parts for this old saw? Model #103.22160. Thanks, Glenn F.

Ebay regularly has parts for old craftsman saws. Limit your search to craftsman table saw and use the advanced search feature to eliminate words that constantly come up that mean nothing to you like "new", 10, etc. You can set it up to get emails when your choice is listed - saves a lot of time. Some of those old saws are excellent tools. IMHO the quality started to decline in the mid 50s when Sears changed manufacturers.

I had a friend who in the '60s got a contract from Sears to make, I think a swing set or something like that. The contract came up for renewal and he asked for an increase per unit. Sears told him no, now that you have the experience and can make them faster and at lower cost we will pay you less than the last contract.
I no longer remember if he accepted the deal or not.

I use a Craftsman tilting arbor saw my dad bought in 1950.I was able to buy a table extension in the 60s.AS for the tilt table saw I would not use one.Sears sold a lot of nice 10 inch table saws, I see them used for sale often at low prices. They did sell a clunker with a direct cable drive, avoid those.

I have a relatively new (20 years)Inca table saw that has a tilting table. I like the precision that this setup offers because the motor and blade shaft stay rock solid. I have a sliding jig that I use for beveled cuts on plywood.

We have one like that. It sure is hard to hold a piece solid at an angle.

I have seen the Amish with those type of saws too. They can easily hook a Honda engine onto one due to the belt drive. You just might be able to sell that old one and get enough to buy a newer one ?

Enter your model nr in the search box. This looks like your saw??? Parts seem to be obsolete here, perhaps p/n's will help in your search.

I have a Sears 10" tilting arbor table saw. I can not find a model or serial number on it.

Joe: Yes that's the saw alright, but dial-up is going sooooo ooo slow tonight, I can't get far. I'll check again in the morning. It's not looking good for the old saw. I've had it for about ten years. I was doing a little spring cleaning today and decided I need to make a decision on the old thing. In the time I've had it I haven't stumbled across any parts. I'll probably call Sears in the morning too. If I remember right, I called them when I first aquired the saw..."obsolete"! Thanks Joe, for your help. Glenn
