There are different types of fertilizer, such as 10-10-10, which means if you put 100 lb per acre, you will get 10 lbs Nitrogen, 10 lbs phosporous, & 10 lbs of Potasium per acre. You can get 28-0-0, or 0-0-60, or blends of these & others. Grass hay might respond to 40-20-20 of _actual_ fertilizer, but it depends a whole lot on what type of soil, & what type of grass, and what the soil test is. You might need 400-40-80 for a top yield if it is hayed & has been neglected, for example. Or if it has a lot of alfalfa or clover & manure, might not need any N or phosphorous at all, just some phosphorous.... Around me no lime is used at all. There are different types of lime, pellitized would be easier to spread with your method, it costs a bit more, it does more to the soil than regular lime, but it does not last as long in the soil. trade=offs. I'd look to have the lime custom applied as others suggested, the real ag lime can be a clumpy mess of powder that doesn't flow through the spreader; and blows irritating dust on you all day. Amount you need depends on how acid your soil is, often between a ton & 5 tons per acre in areas where it is needed. There is no magic one rate fits all. It depends what the soil test is now, what actual crop you have, & how much you hope to harvest from the crop - realisiticly for the climate & rainfall. --->Paul
