Does anyone have an online source for electric trailer brakes. I think I will add brakes to my trailer leading axle. Thanks.

Sam, I`ve had good luck with www.southwestwheel.com. Everything was delivered quickly and as promised. Your axles will need brake flanges if they don`t already have them. Dexter has them that you can retrofit, pretty reasonable, or it should be easy enough to make your own. Russ

Thanks to all. This is very helpful. I have posed another question regarding the disc brake as opposed to the conventional shoe type brake system.

Here's a good source of all sorts of fun stuff. Trailer parts includes.

Why the leading axle? I would think the rear most would be better. It would have a water free path cleared by axles in front of it. Being more toward the back it would help straighten out the trailer if there was any fishtailing or other unwanted motion. I don't know, just tossing these ideas out.

Brakes should be on both axles to do any good at all.

I don't have an online source, since I buy OEM, but here's some search results for trailer parts. HTH
