Honda Clone Generator

I am thinking about buying a generator that has one of the honda "clone" engines on it. Anyone have any experience with these clone engines, good or bad? Thank you for your input!

I have a Generac that has a Kawasaki motor and Kawasaki generator. It is very quiet, very economical, and dependable. A friend who has a Honda can't believe how much quieter mine is than his, and it's lighter too. In his opinion and mine, Hondas are overrated. I can't tell you anything about Chinese units but faced with the option, I'd probably give one a try.

I've bought 3 of the PowerPro 3500 watt generators at Pep Boys for $299 each.
They are very quiet which is important to an RVer.

I sold every one of them before I could actually put any time on them and they are still performing well in campers after a year.

I use a pair of Honda EU2000i's connected in parallel to power my fifth wheel and they perform very well but I also had to pay $1751 plus $100 to make the parallel cable and the external fuel system.

Last year the Chinese generators were in short supply so when I found them for sale I would buy them and sell them to my friends and family.

The last one I sold to my uncle in Iowa to replace the deafining Generac. When I cranked that PowerPro his mouth dropped open and he bought it on the spot.

One other thing, the Honda Eu2000i weighs 46 lbs compared to the PowerPro at 100 lbs.

I bought two little ones, 1000 watts, four-stroke, overhead-valve Chinese gas engines. They've been great. I think I paid $125 each, new. At that price, I could buy five for the price of one Honda. So, if I have trouble, and need parts, and can't get parts, I won't lose any sleep over it. Two years ago I bought a new Coleman 1000 watt unit, I used it twice and it crapped out. I called Coleman and NO parts are available. Two years old! So, I bought from a good-old American Company and got zero product support. And, I paid $480 for the d*mn thing. I can't possibly do any worse with this Chinese stuff.

From what I have researched on them, the only place to get parts and servise is the person who imported the products. I ahd looked into starting to sell them, found out their parts avalability at thsi time is very poor. A custoemr brought one in for service a while back, he gave me the name of the person he bought it from, parts were going to be 2-3 weeks to get a carb, no rebuild kit avalable. Plus, the "techs" are put ina room with a computor only, you cannot talk to them in person, email only and their knowledge was limited on helping repair the problem. My .02

HI ME FRIEND HAVE ONE THE MOTOR IS OKE BUT THE GENERATOR WHAS PUTTING 240VOLTS OUT INSTEAD 120 VOLT.
