OT 89' F150

A friend of mine has a 89' Ford F150 straight 6, 5 spd, 2 wheel drive. It cuts out after driving about a mile or so. I watched it run till it quit yesterday, and I had my spark tester hooked up during the process. It didnt lose spark. I'm guessing fuel/fuel pressure now. Does anyone know what the fuel pressure is supposed to be? has anyone ever had a simaler problem? Not too experienced with these.

Does Truck have dual tanks? If so check Tank direction Switch. If dual tanks,useing which tank does this occur.Check Fuel Pressure for Pump malfunctions and Pressure amount is given below. My 89 F-250/460 Engine did some thing similar and found Tank switch was faulty. I spent weeks trying to find the problem and it took a Ford Mechanic 15 minutes to isolate the problem.The Mechanics at Jones Ford in Wickenburg Ariz. are the best and I give them an "Atta Boy"

Sounds like either filter or pump.Frankiee gave you the spec for key on engine off.With engine running,it should be 45-60.~brad

It does have dual tanks, but he only uses the one closest to the cab. He said he took the selector switch all apart which might be a problem lol. I'm not real familer with the truck and I'm not looking at it right now, but could I just bypass the switch? Its a $200 truck and he's 78 and I just want him to have a somewhat reliable vehicle. From what I understand, this has 2 fuel pumps, the one in the tank, and a booster? whats the pressure between the tank pump and the booster pump, May try and bypass this selector switch. Thanks again.
