i have a 1985 yamaha 225 3 wheeler that i use around the farm runs good starts on the first pull everytime no matter how cold it is out its a 4 cycle single cylinder engine it blue smokes quite a bit but the oil level never seems to go down what else could make it smoke like this

hey rick
check your oil and see if you can smell gas.
my old 225 smoked a little and level never seemed to go down. the needle and seat would let a little bit of gas go into the engine. my fuel shut off broke like most are on those old machines. just keep the oil changed and fix the shut off and use it.

Trouble with these ATVs is with no odometer you forget to change the oil as often as you should.Speaking for myself anyway.

That is the truth for sure. And a lot of Hondas don't have oil filters, just a centrifugal trap. Hardly anyone ever bothers to clean that, since it involves removing a side cover and an expensive gasket. I've seen them so full of sludge the clutches wouldn't work anymore.
