About a week ago my son's tom cat peed on the back seat of my van. They are fabric seats so the pee was quickly absorbed. I immediatly went to WalMart and bought their product which is supposed to work magic. Well, needless to say a week later with temperatures below zero, I'm probably the only guy in town who's driving with his windows open! Any suggestions on how to get rid of Tom's foul odor? If all else fails, I'm gonna have to shop the salvage yards for a different seat. I appreciate your suggestions as frost bite is beginning to set in. Glenn F.

Try hydrogen peroxide. Librally soak the area.
Works great on dog pee have not tried on cat.

Try Skunkaway from your vet. I used it when my cat got sprayed. Later I used what was left to get the mouse pee smell out of my truck heater. Way better than any soap from the store.

Being that its cloth fabric, I don't know that you can. But, might ask your friendly ServiceMaster guy. If anyone knows, I bet he does.

Years ago while doing a phone cable repair on the backside of a prison, I set my tool belt on the ground and didn't see which one of about 10 strays that used to hang around the sally port peed on one of my buttsets, but one did. I didn't know it until I picked it up and went on a cable pair to check for dialtone. "God d!$^ you stupid f!@$ing cats, I'll kill you stupid f!@$ing cats". Buttsets are hard plastic shells. I took it home, apart, and boiled the shell, wiped it down with kerosene, soaked it in aftershave, replaced every part inside that I could, and it still took weeks and a lot of abrasive coal dust from the power plants. It's ok these days, but...

Shoot the cat.

Mark

I agree with ChrisH. Goto your vet or a local pet supply store. They have special chemicals to remove the cat urine odor. Not cheap, but better than frostbite.

Hurrah for the cat! Bet you would do the same after you were ---. Natures Miracle works well too. At the flea marked there is a pet supply person. He sells qt for $5 and Gallons for $20. In the store it is almost double that. Go to Pet Smart. They have the lower price. Spring time take out the seat and hose it down and soak it with Nature and let stand wash again Etc. Cats urin is a concentrate and it will crystalize. That is why it is so hard to get out. Needs to be washed out. Jeffcat

Can you remove the seat and set it outdoors while shampooing it?

Sprinkle the seat with baking soda, leave it on a day or so and vacuum.....you may have to do this several times using fresh baking soda. You can try a few charcol briquets laid loose. Kitty litter is also designed to absorb odors....might give that a try as well.

Your veteranian has odor neutralizer that is way better than WalMarts product. Our cat marked the sofa and this stuff made it disappear in a couple days. I think it is some type of enzyme liquid.

Try the other suggestions first, but if all else fails, go to www.zeroodorpet.com

We have a cat that likes to "think outside the box". Believe me, this stuff works miracles.....
