I have military type 2 wheel trailer (tire size 9.00 x20)
With Hyd brakes was air over system. Is there any kind of system that would couple to the electric brake system I have installed in my Truck? Or any other system that could be used without changing the hyds brakes on the trailor. Impluse copling is not an option
as this trailer has a pintle ring.

Hi Benny,

I put one of these on a tandem axle race car trailer the came with surge brakes. Best thing I ever did.

I thought it was a little expensive also, and mentioned it to my wife.

Her response: "How much will an accident cost you?"

That was all the approval I needed.

You Got it right there but! Re: Thats the real dea in reply to Lil-Farmer, 02-26-2006 09:50:49
You hit the nail on the head you should promote your wife to permanate advisor status ;)) !

Im my state 2 wheel trailors are not required to have brakes until they are loaded to a certian amount. Not sure what that is but this trailer will haul what my truck will, 1ton GMC dualy with dump, special 16000 gvw door tag. It can get scary with a full load on trailer. I dont drive it on wet or bad roads. Will push the truck when braking hard (slide) even when the truck is grossed if a good load on the trailer. Also has a great tendency to Jack Knife then. So cannot safely use to its capcity :((. But this trailer with a load runs so smooth you have to check once in a while just to see if it is still there!
The trailer has GREAT brakes on it, should you paid to have the best put there, ex-GI trailer you know! Looks just like the ones the big Mil trucks pull.

Air source on trailer with a solenoid valve hooked to electric brake controller maybe?
