Goodaye to anyone reading this,

The old girls problem (Massey 35)is after a heavy days slashing, she developed a pretty constant leak from the diesel cut off, in the injector pump.
My question is there a quick fix or do I have to replace the injector pump? (and if so how involed is the job of replacing the pump?)
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Johnny

Post back as to what brand of pump it is.

If a CAV, the fix is straight forward. Only need to get the EXACT size o-rings, 4 of them; 2 on each shaft: cut off and throttle. Problems are if you are not REALLY careful when removing the top cover, you will ruin the pump. 1. Clean, clean and clean again, the pump and all the area surrounding it. 2. lossen the cover and peek under it - - DO NOT remove it until you peek under and WRITE down the hole the "tombstone" shaped piece is hooked in. Then WRITE down the hole the other end in hooked in. The pump will not work right if you do not do this. 3. remove cover. 4 clean off old gasket. 5. Purchase new gasket and 4 o-rings from MF dealer. 6 reinstall with new gasket and new o-rings. You will need to exactly hook up the tombstone and shaft end of the linkage inside the cover like it was. A real good MF mechanic can tell you the tombstone and shaft-end hole settings from the complete serial number of the pump and model of MF tractor.

I done this repair on my MF-690 and completely stopped the dripping. It is so sealed that the pump hardly collects any dust now.

Sorry for long post.
Tom

Is this a CAV model DPA pump? If it is I think either your gasket is bad or the O-ring on the shut off shaft is bad.

Goodaye J Schwiebert,

Thankyou for your reply, I"m pretty sure it is a CAV pump, and I"ll find out today, when I visit the MF dealer. I will let you know how I went with the fix.
