I'm a phone guy that spends an awful lot of time in fossil (mostly coal) fired power plants, and that's some dirty, dirty stuff. The stuff they use is a mixture of hybrids, and they treat it with all kinds of stuff to keep the pollutions down, and even though the smoke comes out the stacks white (high in moisture), at best its still full of acids that do the number on vehicles parked in the lot and everywhere around it, and I can imagine thin guage metal house and shed siding. The EPA's constantly all over them guys, and they have the ability to treat it in ways that the average Joe can't or can't afford. Coal's very corrosive, and the dust... I've seen the entire sides of plants, conveyors and crusher houses blown completely off like that federal building in Oklahoma City. And the upkeep to the boilers and burners from the corrosion is a never ending battle. With heating costs being what they are, I can see coal trying to make a comeback, but I can also see the EPA squashing that real quick. I don't think that your neighbors are gonna like you much if you turn their homes black and rust their cars out. Besides, you'll need a supplier. Mark
