Source one metals, Shelby Twp. Mich. Alro Kurtz steel, Detroit Mich. Central steel, Detroit Mich, Cincinatti Oh. Metal supermarkets, Troy Mich. Hope this helps

You might try checking with Mcmaster Carr. I know they they have a section devoted to shaped stock and I believe they have the hexes in 4140.

Im not sure where you are located, but Ability Metals in Ajax, Ontario, Canada carries hex stock in many metals, including bronze. Give them a call...
